Edward Tenniswood lured a drunken India Chipchase to a cab, the jury heard

Edward Tenniswood, 52, spotted 20-year-old India Chipchase slumped outside a club and lured her to a cab, it was alleged.

He took her back to his home, where he lived alone. There he started to grope her, a jury was told.

Doctor’s daughter India put up a ferocious fight but Tenniswood battered her across the head and face before raping her, Birmingham Crown Court was told.

During the attack, he grabbed her throat and strangled her, it was alleged.
